What Makes Academic Different
Listening and Speaking are shared in broad structure with General Training, but Reading passages and Writing Task 1 are Academic-specific. If a school says “IELTS 6.5 Academic,” General Training will not substitute. Confirm on the school site, then build a plan around Academic Task 1 charts and essay genres.
Study Emphasis
- Academic vocabulary in context—not memorized lists without collocations.
- Data language for trends, comparisons, and proportions in Task 1.
- Essay structures that answer the exact question (opinion, discussion, problem–solution).
